This extraordinary trio paints vivid musical pictures, reminiscent of a walk through a museum of precious expressionist artworks. When improvising, Phillip Dornbusch, Will Glaser and Olly Chalk (from Berlin and London) ‘talk’ with one another, telling stories of myths and fairytales. Their compositions evolve continuously, ever changing and in doing so, light and darkness, timidity and drama, doubt and hope are explored. Faintly, there are glimmers of the Jazz tradition in and amongst music that is grounded in the contemporary and the urban. Sometimes chattering, flickering, swirling and aroused, on the other hand gentle, radiant and iridescent like pearl. This is music that warmly invites you to be carried on a river of sonic ideas, guided by the three narrators from one story to another.
